Dr. Matthew Fox is Chief of the Division Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at Dell Medical School and Dermatology Service Line lead for Ascension Medical Group Texas. Dr. Fox is a native Austinite and attended the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Fox then attended medical school at the University of Texas at Houston. He underwent dermatology residency training at the University of Michigan, where he then stayed to complete a comprehensive fellowship in Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Fox subsequently was recruited to return home to Austin and establish the first academic Mohs surgery practice in the region over ten years ago.

Dr. Fox's clinical and research interests include the management of high risk cutaneous malignancies, including via Mohs micrographic surgery. He has special interest in the collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to the management of high risk cancers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology, and is active with the Association of Professors of Dermatology and the Texas Dermatological Society.
